Stoney Bracelets
Since 2019, we have been crafting handmade gemstone bracelets for over 20,000 customers. Each stone is hand-selected in our own studio.

You pick up a hematite bracelet and the first thing you notice is its weight. Heavier than you expected. Colder too. That's no coincidence. Hematite is iron oxide, the same mineral that colors the earth red, but polished into a silvery-gray stone with the density of metal. Explore our complete hematite bracelet collection and feel the difference.

Four properties that distinguish hematite

Many stones are beautiful. Hematite is too, but it distinguishes itself in ways you feel rather than just see. Here are the four characteristics that make men return to hematite.

01
Weight

Hematite is one of the densest stones we process. A bracelet feels substantial, not as an accessory but as something of value. That weight is the first thing customers mention.

02
Metallic Luster

The silvery-gray color with its soft metallic sheen stands out without shouting. Hematite doesn't look like jewelry. It looks like a statement that speaks for itself.

03
Color Stability

The color does not fade. After months of daily wear, hematite looks the same. In fact, slight wear gives the stone more character. It only gets better.

04
Versatility

Silvery-gray goes with everything. Black watch, brown leather, white sneakers. Hematite is the stone you don't have to match to your outfit. It always fits.

Combining hematite: three stacks that work

Hematite is a team player. Its cool silver tone forms a perfect base for combinations with both warm and dark stones. These are the three combinations our customers order most often.

How to keep hematite in perfect condition

Hematite is iron oxide. That makes it durable, but it also means that water and moisture can affect its surface. With proper care, your bracelet will last for years without losing character.

Situation What to do
Showering or swimming Always take it off. Water can cause oxidation on the surface of hematite.
After exercising Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Sweat contains salt that can cause the same reaction as water.
Cleaning Dry polish with a cotton cloth. No water, no chemical agents, no aggressive abrasives.
Storing In a dry place, preferably in a cotton bag separate from other jewelry. Prevents scratches and oxidation.
Daily wear No problem. Hematite is hard enough for everyday use. Slight patina over time adds character.

6mm or 8mm: the weight difference you feel

For most stones, the difference between 6mm and 8mm is mainly visual. For hematite, it's physical. An 8mm hematite bracelet weighs noticeably more than a 6mm variant, and that weight is exactly what many men are looking for.

Our advice: choose 8mm if you like that heavy, solid feel. Choose 6mm if you want to combine hematite in a stack with other bracelets. At Stoney, we custom-fit each bracelet to your wrist size for free, so you don't have to guess.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does hematite feel heavier than other stones?+
Hematite is composed of iron oxide and has a density of approximately 5.3 grams per cubic centimeter. That's more than twice as heavy as quartz. You feel that weight instantly when you pick up or put on the bracelet.
Can I wear hematite every day?+
Yes. With a hardness of 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, hematite is sturdy enough for daily use. The only thing you need to pay attention to is water. Take off your bracelet when showering and dry it after exercising.
Does hematite discolor over time?+
No, not if you keep it dry. The silvery-gray color of hematite is stable. With prolonged contact with water, the surface can lightly oxidize, but with dry care, the stone retains its character for years.
What is the difference between 6mm and 8mm hematite?+
Besides the visual difference, weight is the major distinction. An 8mm hematite bracelet feels noticeably heavier and has more presence on your wrist. 6mm is more subtle and lighter, ideal for combining in a stack.
Does hematite go well with a watch?+
Excellent. The silvery-gray tone of hematite pairs well with both silver-colored and dark watches. Its neutral metallic character allows hematite to adapt to whatever you're wearing, without clashing.
