Jasper bracelet

Jasper is the opaque side of the chalcedony family. Where agate has banding and lets light through, jasper is dense and completely filled with pattern. That makes it the stone type where the beads differ most from one another, and exactly why we sort most strictly here.

The jaspers we carry

• African stones: mixed brown and grey, the most ordered of the collection.
• Kambaba jasper: dark green with black circles, a fossilised pattern.
• Picasso jasper: sand grey with thin brown lines, as if drawn on in pencil.
• Flower jasper and desert jasper: soft earth tones with mottling.
• Red sesame: deep red with fine black speckles.
• Leopard skin: sand-coloured with red-brown spots.

No two beads alike

On an even stone a deviating bead barely registers. With jasper the pattern is the whole point, so a bead that falls out of tone in colour depth ruins the entire bracelet. We buy generously so we can reject. What you get is a bracelet in which every bead is different, but in the same tone.

The right size

Most jasper is 8mm for men, picasso jasper and desert jasper also come in 6mm for women. Measure your wrist and add one and a half centimetres; the breakdown is in the size chart.
