Larvikite Bracelet

Larvikite is a grey stone with a blue-silver shimmer that only appears when the light hits it right. It comes from Norway, where it is as well known as a building stone as it is in jewellery, and owes its pattern to coarse crystal faces that reflect light differently face by face.

Related to moonstone and labradorite

All three are feldspars and all three work with a light effect rather than colour. Moonstone is light with a soft glow, labradorite is dark with a sharp blue flash, and larvikite sits exactly in between: coarser in pattern than moonstone, subtler than labradorite. If you want that shimmer in a lighter stone, moonstone is the logical step.

Why larvikite wears so easily

Grey clashes with nothing. Larvikite gives you the neutrality of hematite with a bit more life in it, and therefore works well as the middle stone in a stack of three. Next to lapis lazuli the grey-blue picks up the calm side of the blue.

The right size

It comes in 8mm and 6mm. Measure your wrist and add about one and a half centimetres; the breakdown is in the size chart. Exchanging for another size costs nothing.
