Agate bracelet

Agate is not a colour but a family. All agate is banded chalcedony, formed in cavities in volcanic rock, but the result varies so much that two agate bracelets side by side barely resemble each other.

The agates we carry

• Dragon vein: red with white veining, the most ordered of the collection.
• Tree agate: white with green branching, the lightest.
• Black silk: black with fine grey bands, subtle enough for under a shirt.
• Indian agate and kiwi agate: mottled green, calm and easy to combine.
• Brazil agate and striped agate: banded in red and brown.
• Gold and peacock druzy: agate with an open crystal face that catches light.

What to watch for with agate

A lot of agate on the market is dyed, and you can tell by a too-even, bright colour that is exactly the same on every bead. We don't dye. The banding you see with us has grown, so no two beads are identical, and that is exactly the point. For more earthy pattern, look at jasper, the opaque cousin of agate.

The right size

Most agate is 8mm for men, indian agate and black silk also come in 6mm for women. Measure your wrist and add one and a half centimetres; the breakdown is in the size chart. Exchanging for another size costs nothing.
