Stoney Bracelets
Since 2019, we have been crafting handmade gemstone bracelets for over 20,000 customers. Each stone is hand-selected in our own studio.

Tiger's Eye is one of the few stones you can't ignore. Not because someone tells you it's powerful. But because you see it. That golden-brown sheen that shifts as you move your wrist. Each light different. Each angle a different story. That optical effect is called chatoyancy, and it's precisely what has made tiger's eye irresistible for centuries. Check out our tiger's eye bracelets to see what we mean.

Where the meaning of tiger's eye comes from

Meaning is not a property of the stone itself. It is what people have attributed to it throughout the centuries. For tiger's eye, that story is stronger than for most gemstones, because the stone visually delivers what its meaning promises: strength, focus, and protection. You see it, and therefore you believe it faster.

That makes tiger's eye different from stones whose meaning you have to look up. The association is immediate. Romans wore it as an amulet for courage in battle. African tribes used it as a protective stone during dangerous journeys. In traditional Chinese medicine, tiger's eye was associated with balance between yin and yang.

Courage & Willpower Most attributed
Cultural Background Roman soldiers wore tiger's eye as an amulet in battles. The stone stood for fearlessness, not through magic, but through the trust the wearer placed in it.
How Customers Experience It Men who wear tiger's eye tell us it reminds them of decisions they want to make. The stone doesn't force anything. It is an anchor.
Focus & Clarity Popular
Cultural Background In East Asian traditions, tiger's eye is associated with the third eye, with mental clarity. The stone is said to help cut through noise and focus on what matters.
How Customers Experience It Entrepreneurs and professionals often consciously choose tiger's eye as a daily reminder of their goals. It's not superstition, it's a ritual.
Protection & Grounding Historical
Cultural Background African peoples used tiger's eye as a travel stone, a protector in unknown territory. Its warmth and earthy colors were seen as a connection to the ground beneath your feet.
How Customers Experience It For many wearers, tiger's eye is the stone they put on when starting something new. A new job, a move, a first date. Something to hold onto.
Self-Confidence & Radiance Modern
Cultural Background In modern crystal practice, tiger's eye is linked to the solar plexus chakra, the center of personal power and identity. Culturally, not medically.
How Customers Experience It It's the stone men choose when they want to exude something. Not loud, but present. The gold of tiger's eye stands out without shouting.

We present these meanings as cultural background, not as proven efficacy. What we do know is this: the men who wear tiger's eye don't wear it by accident. They choose it.

Why tiger's eye looks different than you expect

Many stones are beautiful when you hold them still. Tiger's eye is beautiful when you move. This is due to chatoyancy: an optical effect where bands of light slide across the surface of the stone when you tilt it. The result is a living stone. One that looks different in the morning sun than under office lighting.

This effect is created by parallel fibers of crocidolite enclosed in the quartz. The denser and more regular these fibers, the stronger the cat's eye effect. At Stoney, we only select stones with a clear, sharp band of light. That's the difference you see and feel when you wear the bracelet.

Tiger's eye is the only stone you can't capture in a photo. You have to see it move.

Combining Tiger's Eye with other stones

Tiger's Eye is not a stone you wear alone. Its warm golden hue makes it a perfect base for combinations with both dark and cool stones. Here are the three combinations our customers order most frequently.

Combination Effect Suitable for
Tiger's Eye + Obsidian Warm gold next to deep black. Maximum contrast, strong presence. Men who want impact without overdoing it
Tiger's Eye + Lapis Lazuli Gold and deep blue. Think royal colors. Striking yet refined. Business occasions, evenings out
Tiger's Eye + Hematite Warmth meets cool silver-gray. Balance between soft and tough. Daily wear, complements any outfit

6mm or 8mm: which size suits you

With tiger's eye, bead size makes more difference than with most stones. Why? Because larger beads mean more surface area, and thus more chatoyancy. With 8mm, you see the band of light shift more clearly. With 6mm, the effect is more subtle.

Our advice: choose 8mm if you want the stone to do the talking. Choose 6mm if you want to combine it with other bracelets in a stack. At Stoney, we custom-fit every bracelet to your wrist size for free.

Frequently asked questions

Is the meaning of tiger's eye scientifically proven?+
No. The meanings attributed to tiger's eye are cultural and historical, not scientific. We present them as background, not as a claim. What is measurable, however, is the psychological effect of wearing something you personally value.
What exactly is chatoyancy?+
Chatoyancy is an optical phenomenon where a band of light moves across the surface of the stone when you tilt it. It is also called the cat's eye effect. In tiger's eye, it is caused by parallel crocidolite fibers in the quartz.
Which variant of tiger's eye is most popular?+
Gold tiger's eye is by far the most chosen variant. Approximately 70% of our customers choose this classic golden-brown color. Blue tiger's eye is the rarest and is mainly chosen by men seeking a more subtle look.
Can I wear tiger's eye every day?+
Yes. With a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale, tiger's eye is durable enough for daily use. Avoid prolonged contact with water and chemicals. Wiping it dry after exercise is sufficient to keep the stone beautiful.
Does tiger's eye suit a business outfit?+
Absolutely. Especially gold tiger's eye in 6mm is subtle enough for an office environment. Its warm golden hue complements watches and cufflinks. For a business stack, combine it with obsidian or hematite.
