Robbin van Hassel - Founder of Stoney Bracelets

I started Stoney Bracelets in 2019 from my bedroom in Rosmalen. This is the true story behind the brand: what started it, why I persisted, and how we became who we are today.

If you type "Stoney Bracelets," you either already know us or you want to get to know us. This article is for both. No marketing speak, no perfect brand story that looks too slick. Just the honest story of how it all began and where we are now.

How it started

In 2019, I was studying Financial Economics in Nijmegen. I was fascinated by gemstones, bought my first stones at a market, and started making bracelets for myself. Friends asked about them. I made some for them. They then passed them on to others.

I had no background in jewelry. No craft training, no family in the business. I learned by doing, made mistakes, and kept improving. The first bracelets were far from perfect. But they were real, and that turned out to matter.

Stoney Bracelets officially started as a company in 2019 from my bedroom. The first webshop was simple. The first bracelets were sent in plain envelopes. It grew organically, order by order.

"I never thought it would get this big. I just wanted to make something I was proud of. That feeling has never disappeared."

— Robbin van Hassel, founder of Stoney Bracelets

How we work

Each bracelet is handmade in our atelier in Rosmalen. That might sound like a marketing phrase, but it's literally true. We don't use factory production, no automated stringing machines, no intermediaries. Every bracelet passes through human hands.

We select gemstones based on color, hardness, and quality. Not every stone that comes in goes into a bracelet. Stones with too many irregularities or color deviations that don't match the batch are set aside. We use high-quality elastic that maintains its tension. Each bracelet is custom-strung based on the wrist circumference you provide when ordering.

We work exclusively with genuine gemstones. No glass, no plastic, no imitation. That is non-negotiable and is stated in every product description.

Customization

You provide your wrist circumference when ordering. We adjust each bracelet precisely. No standard sizes that happen to fit. Free, always.

Location
Made in the Netherlands

Our atelier is in Rosmalen, North Brabant. Not far away in a factory elsewhere in the world. This gives us control over quality and delivery speed.

What customers say

We have over 1,800 reviews with an average of 4.8 out of 5. That's not a marketing claim but a number we monitor every day. If it drops, we want to know why.

"This is the third bracelet I've ordered. The quality is perfect every time. The size is exactly right and they respond quickly if you have a question."

— customer review, Stoney Bracelets

What customers mention most: the fit (they provide their wrist circumference and it's accurate), the quality of the stones, and the fast delivery. What we want to improve: we are continuously working on packaging and providing information about our stones.
