Amethyst Bracelet

Amethyst is the only truly purple stone in our range and one of the few where the depth of colour varies strongly from batch to batch. We sort for an even mid-purple rather than as dark as possible, because amethyst that's too dark quickly looks almost black on the wrist.

The versions

Amethyst 8mm is the standard for a wider wrist and shows the colour best. Amethyst 6mm is the same stone strung finer and stays more understated. Athena is the Silver+ version, where amethyst and obsidian are interrupted by two beads of 925 sterling silver, and the most outspoken of the collection. Amethyst is also used in the Wisdom Set.

Purple is not a women's stone

Purple is often seen as feminine, but amethyst in 8mm next to a black stone turns out very differently from amethyst on its own. For men the combination with matte obsidian works best: the purple becomes an accent rather than the subject. For women, 6mm next to grey Moon Stones or pink rhodonite is the softer route.

Amethyst with gold

Many people search for amethyst with gold. We don't carry gold, so we can't supply that combination. Still want a metal accent with the purple? The Athena with its silver beads comes closest.

The right size
